The goal is a book a week. Quantity over quality, no War and Peace here. Let’s see how I do.

  1. One Perfect Day: The Selling of the American Wedding, Rebecca Mead.
  2. Opting In: Having a Child Without Losing Yourself, Amy Richards. <– Three-word review: This book SUCKED.
  3. Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns), Mindy Kaling.
  4. Marriage, A History: From Obedience to Intimacy, or How Love Conquered Marriage, Stephanie Coontz. <– Four-word review: This book was GREAT.
  5. Your Best Birth, Ricki Lake and Abby Epstein. *Note, this is the companion book to The Business of Being Born, which many of you have probably seen.
  6. Lost and Found, Geneen Roth.
  7. The Big Short, Michael Lewis.
  8. Wishful Drinking, Carrie Fisher.
  9. We All Fall Down, Nic Sheff.
  10. Get Me Out: A History of Childbirth from the Garden of Eden to the Sperm BankRandi Hutter Epstein.
  11. Hospital: Man, Woman, Birth, Death, Infinity, Plus Red Tape, Bad Behavior, Money, God and Diversity on Steroids, Julie Salamon.
  12. Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth, Ina May Gaskin.
